Help !! Iv'e lost Gt Gt Grandmother

My Gt Grandmother Caroline was b in 1832 at Castel Guernsey and was the illegitamate dau of Sophie Matthieu in 1841 Caroline is shown as age 9 in the returns for the workhouse at Castel there is no trace of Sophie Sophie is quite a mystery there are no records as to where she came from where she went or when she died Does anyone out there have any knowledge of the Matthieu family of Guernsey ? Any help or info will be greatly appreciated Thanks Bren |
