Jillian - I haven't forgotten you! I've looked on the VRI and on the 1851 census, but can't find a trace of Richard Ackland born c1828, or of his marriage to Mary. Sorry Penny

Brian Only five Alfred Flemings on the CD and none for the right date or place. Sorry. Have you checked the York BMD website? I'll have a look for you and see if there are any possibilities. How's this? Alfred Fleming born 1850 Holbech Leeds HOLB/18B/340 - it's a brilliant site, in fact a lot of my family came from Holbech. You can print off an order form with all the details on, post it to them and it only costs £7.00. I tried 1849 and 1851 but that was the only Alfred - worth a go! Penny

Hi Rosemary Nothing on your Waltons I'm afraid. These are the christening/marriage records from the churches (if you're lucky) so only the bare essentials will be recorded on the disks. I someone strikes lucky further details can be obtained from the church itself. Good luck with your digging & delving, you'll get there in the end! Penny
