City of London Cemetery, Wanstead

I am considering visiting this huge cemetery as part of my research. MY Aunt has cards showing the plot numbers of some relatives but for others, we do not even know if they are buried there. My question is whether anyone has visited this cemetery to search, are you allowed to search the records yourself and how easy are they to use? Jeannie
