I've just received the marriage certificate of my mother's maternal grandmother and it appears that she is the sister of my mother's paternal grandfather which means my grandparents were cousins. Does anyone know whether this was common? My grandparents were born in the 1890's. Re: Unwanted certificates. The above means I have been going down the wrong road with my mother's maternal grandmother and I have a birth certificate for an Alice Owen born in 1871 and her parents marriage certificate. Is it worth posting the details of these (and two others) on this board? Lynne Sale
