Vera two problems come to mind with the suggestion. One the majority of additions to trees here are made my Gedcom, persuading people to re-write their entire tree to that format before exporting it from their FT software and uploading it here is very unlikely. It my own database I enter locations town, county i.e. Sedbergh, West Riding of Yorkshire Secondly putting the county first entirely messes up the 'Your Names' section. I happen to use this more than searching as its faster and broader. In theory I'm in favour of standardisation, I think I mentioned in the last week that I raised the issue with the GeneConnected staff just after the site launched, however the actual logistics of it are somewhat hard. |
