THE CHAPMAN CODES FOR THE COUNTRY & COUNTIES OF THE BRITISH ISLES. There are a few of us who wish to standardise the input of country & county data and ease the Search process. The plan is to input the COUNTRY first(but not ENG for England as that is the default), then the COUNTY then the CITY/TOWN etc. e.g. for Dartford in Kent input KEN, Dartford. As we probably know the County where our ancestors were rather than a town it should make a search easier. The Chapman Codes list- a shorthand version - can be found on genuki. Or search your server for Chapman Codes. Vera.
