Just thought I would enquire as to how the search is going.

We haven't had an update for a while.

Lorraine Report 26 Oct 2007 23:32

I have been following this thread for a few weeks now (have been on holiday so has taken a while to catch up !!) and think it is fantastic that so much information has been found about 1 little girl and her family.

Well done to everyone involved, cant wait for the next instalment.

Keep up the good work everyone

We are still working on this and are making excellent progress into to finding close living relatives of Patricia. The tree now contains just short of 500 people!!

Will post a more detailed update towards the end of the week - fingers crossed the evidence arrives.
Thanks

Looks like the tree is back to normal now and it's looking fantastic.

Patricia Report 16 Sep 2007 10:28

The tree is has been updated, however, there is a more general problem with trees on here at the moment - showing some very odd relationship connections!??!?!

Others are also having the same problem - see other threads.

Patricia Report 15 Sep 2007 14:14

I'm having a problem uploading an updated tree, the GEDCOM goes through OK but is showing six more individuals than are in the master tree and showing some very odd relationships/connections.

Please bear with me whilst I try and sort this out
Thanks

The following certificates arrived and we have now confirmed both the ancestry and descendant links.

Death Certificate

Leo Anthony Wilson

4th September 1978 - Crawley

Date & Place of Birth: 17th November 1906 Newcastle Upon Tyne
Post Office Engineer (Retired)

Name of Informant: Norman Anthony Wilson - Son

Personal details have been omitted

Wilson being a widespread surname – has been a challenge, especially when Leo’s wife surname is Brown. Leo born and married in Newcastle, died in Crawley, West Sussex; the son mentioned in the death certificate was born in London. So as you can imagine the combinations for researching this line are huge. Each quarter in the birth index has 5 or 6 pages (that’s 20-24 pages for one year!!) and when you don’t know the first name or the location it’s a trawl – but that’s what Genealogy research is all about.

-----------------------------------------------------------

Death Certificate

Norman Michael Wilson

12th October 1986 - Newcastle

Date & Place of Birth: 10th September 1910 Newcastle Upon Tyne
Businessman of Heaton, Newcastle

Name of Informant: Charles Anthony Hayes – Half Brother

Personal details have been omitted

Did Norman – marry? was he a widower (not mentioned on the cert), did he have any children; was his half brother who was living in New Milton Hampshire, some 350 miles from Newcastle his next of kin; what had happened to all his other siblings; full & half.

Still a number of unanswered question and multiple avenues to explore.

I'll post again when the tree's been updated - shortly

Thanks
Rachel

nudging up.

I tried deleting the nudge but it sent the thread straight back to page 6 where it was.

Tree looking great, much easier to follow the family now!

Don't want to sound picky, but would all those people who have nudged the thread up go back and delete your nudges from time to times as it makes reading and following the thread very hard when you want to catch up with how things are going.

I'm sure others would agree with me, but I don't want to spoil any interest to this very successful thread!

Many thanks
Dee
