What has happened to p11? I thought it was blank but when I scrolled down I found it started further down and was full width of the screen and then some. I had to keep sliding the page back and forth sideways to read it. I am finding this story very interesting. I love a good mystery!

Paul Barton, Special Agent Report 12 Aug 2007 20:54

Would Patricia have started school in Woolwich at the time of her evacuation? In which case, which school and would there be a record of her time there?

Paul

Paul Report 12 Aug 2007 21:27

Hi Paul, I don't know what month in 1939 Patricia came to Morganstown. The information to date says she was five. She would have been 5 in the March of 1939 so I think she may not have started School until the following September. Never having children I do not know how school ages work. On Wednesday I am hoping that the Cardiff Rural Committee records will be available for me to view so I will ask about School Logs when I'm there. Many thanks Paul

hi Huia, there is a posting on page 11 by Telly Addict, with a very long website, and its this which is causing a white page - one of the anomalies of this site, and another thing that causes white pages is if people do long rows of dots ....... have been guilty of this myself :) hi Paul, the school intake age is different now to what it used to be, Patricia would have started school in the Sep of the academic year she turned five, so she should have been at school but as things were muddled due to the war she might not have been attending school at all. these days, its the nearest school term to the birthday. c xx

Hi all, Are there other members of GR who live in the Woolwich area. Rachel has been a star but I'm sure she would not turn down any offers of help. If you feel you can give some time I would be grateful. Many thanks Paul

Maggie, I wonder why this site is banned in the workplace .... lololol its possible Henrietta Maud married a much older man and there is that death entry for a man in his 60s, 1943 wasnt it? only the marriage certificate or parish record will confirm his age. but the reason Paul needs to know about William as well as Henrietta is to find out if they had siblings with descendants who would be interested in learning about Patricia. she may be gone in sad circumstances, but it is even more sad she is also forgotten. c xx

Paul Report 12 Aug 2007 22:41

Hi Christine, I'm keeping my fingers crossed that the marriage certificate will hold the answer to your question. Rachel has once again kindly agreed to purchase the certificate so we only need to wait until Tuesday at the earliest to find out. Bye Paul

I got in fine Christine but I didn't Google. I cut and pasted in the bar and just changed the * to d o t . Lovely site Paul. With regard to any other possible children. I decided to start looking but when I got to a Cyril it rang a bell. I came back to look and realised that Linda White had already done 1935 - 1936 and 1937. I was surprised to see how many Armstrong births with mmn Wilson there are and again, without a cert we could never be sure. I did a search on here for the names we have and there are a couple of vague possibles. Slightly different birth year etc. The sort of thing that, if it was my family tree I was doing I would be contacting them to ask if there was a connection. Chrissie
