Hi Maggie, I spoke to Rachel yesturday about the posibility that James Anthony married Theresa Silmom, as Theresa is a well known Catholic name. I found Theresa with her parents and Siblings on the 1901 and 1891 census. William or Mohammed W Silmon was born in the North Africa's. One of the members worked in the Grand Hotel here in Tynemouth. On Freebmd, I see a Births for James Anthony Wilson in 1867, one in 1885, then there is the marriage in Newcastle, then a Birth in South Shields in 1908. I just cannot make up my mind about them. What do you think? Jenny.

Hi Just been on the web page with the updates. I have not personaly seen a death cert for a child and was wondering why her father was only named and not both parents ie. daughter of william and Hen. I was just wondering What if her parents where not together at that time. But would still have thought they would be both named. Sorry i may be well of course on that one. Kate

Jenny
I've ordered Henriettas' birth certificate and typically day off today and the postman still hasn't been! I will post details as soon as it arrives unless someone can get details quicker?
I've seen all the same details as you and can't make my mind up, personally I'd go with the 1885 birth. I know that means he would have married at 19 but that wasn't uncommon.
Got to go out now but will be back !! I'm hooked, Paul you have a lot to answer for ;-) lol

So my 'hunch' yesturday was correct. See my post yesturday. I am waiting for a reply from a GR member who I PM'd yesturday. He has a Frank Silmon, in his tree. He has no year or place of Birth though. Just thought it was worth a try. Jenny.

On the Armstrong side, William might be tricky to locate, but the father's name Peter is more unusual. On the list of members' interests there are two members researching Peter Armstrong born in Yetholm, Roxburgh (see Janice's posting, page 17, 19.17 pm). A subsequent posting suggested that the Roxburgh birth is a little more likely of the two possibles. Both members give the date of birth for the Peter Armstrong as 1827/8, which may be too early, but the members could probably offer some advice on individuals with that surname around that date in that town. Has anyone already tried contacting these members (David and Susan)?

Hello all, Win Evans and I have just trawled through all the parish documents in Radyr parish we could find for that time period. No burial records held after 1926 when it ceased to be the church’s responsibility. But on the trail of the subsequent records anyway. PCC minutes: no mention of paying for the funeral or the grave. Parish accounts: likewise. Record of services conducted: nothing. It occurred to us that the funeral service may not have been at St John’s after all but at Bethel, which was at the time, the church for Morganstown, although Patricia is buried in St John’s. If/when we get sight of the other records, I’ll report again. Keep up the good work everyone and thanks from Win for all that you’re doing. Didn’t he do well on the radio this afternoon! Mumsy.
