Just spent 10 mins composing a reply to GR on here....(NOT being rude) and it's flippin gone!...lost!.....I give up!

Bar hum bug! Maybe it's time I looked at one of those other sites....

I love my hobby (that I found in later life) but this seems so unfriendly now.

It seems to have lost that 'personal touch'

I wonder if GR read these posts?....doubt it!

There are deleted replies on other threads too Reg - some on Records Office.

However on some threads there seem to be too many deleted on threads that are not at all controvertial, so I'm starting to think the deleted threads are actually just another glitch and not the work of moderators at all.

Please don't leave Reg - there'll be no one left soon.

I don't want to be pushed into praising the new layout excessively but I do think it is (and was) much more user-friendly than the garish other site where vast acres of the screen are taken up with day-glo signatures, moody photographs and platitudinous mottoes at the expense of the text.

Seriously, though........it seems odd that the only deletions are on a thread initiated by GR.........

I don't think I'll be around to see whether the practice is extended.......I really wish I hadn't renewed.

Peter - there's no way GR will continue without adverts.

Sue - go to my account and change your maiden name for your married one (or whichever one you usually use). I've just done it and I'm back to my proper name. I thought it might mess up my name on my tree but it hasn't.

This is so irritating.

I am fed up with this site changing every 5 minutes. I've been a member since it started and I don't find the new layout easier to use.
I think a lot of us will be drifting away rather than chatting on here.

Well Reg - people have been asking for moderators for a long time, so I don't suppose we can complain when they actually seem to be using them, LOL.

I really thought I liked the new format, but now they've changed it all again. It's no wonder that there hardly ever seems to be anyone on the boards during the day any more.

I quite like it: the layout is less cluttered and the first posting of the thread is not horribly compressed any more. However, there is probably too much space wasted around the postings now. Despite some comments it is very normal to have a menu or sub-menu on the left-hand side (the side we start reading from) and so I see no problem here.

I just wish that posters would start their thread on the appropriate board rather than post on any at random.

I see that GR are censoring the replies.....note how many on here have already been deleted.

I also note that GR are unable to spell the word 'newest'.

If anything was needed to send people to the other site, these latest changes are surely it!!

Hi Kath just noticed what youy said about 'my threads' oh no! all that saved information has disappeared - GR please bring it back :((

Can anyone please tell me if we can still find "My threads only" any more - if so how?

And why have I now reverted to my maiden name - it's not the name I registered on this site with and why should GR now change my board name?

I see we can't now report a fault in the same way as we could this morning. I added a reply to a thread earlier today saying how I thought I quite liked the new format - then they go and change it all again!!!!!

Why don't you stop messing with things which have worked for years........

i had lots of threads saved with useful sites and info, and i can't access any now, also if i type a random query like"liverpool" i get peoples replies but not the whole thread, so i haven't a clue what the question was...try and see what i mean....moe

Why is it that when I get to the bottom of a thread page and want to go to the next, I click on 2 or 3 or whatever and I get a strange set up on the left?? Also don't like the fact that they think that we've all gone blind overnight!!! What's with the large print??

Finding my way around it might be a different matter though.

I expect we'll all get used to it in time.
