Well Reg - people have been asking for moderators for a long time, so I don't suppose we can complain when they actually seem to be using them, LOL.

I really thought I liked the new format, but now they've changed it all again. It's no wonder that there hardly ever seems to be anyone on the boards during the day any more.

Heaven forbid! I was going to suggest that their absence was another plus for the new layout. Don't give them ideas.

This is so irritating.

I am fed up with this site changing every 5 minutes. I've been a member since it started and I don't find the new layout easier to use.
I think a lot of us will be drifting away rather than chatting on here.

Peter - there's no way GR will continue without adverts.

Sue - go to my account and change your maiden name for your married one (or whichever one you usually use). I've just done it and I'm back to my proper name. I thought it might mess up my name on my tree but it hasn't.

I thought the moderators were only needed on the general board when the pubs close! lol!

Seriously, though........it seems odd that the only deletions are on a thread initiated by GR.........

I don't think I'll be around to see whether the practice is extended.......I really wish I hadn't renewed.

I don't want to be pushed into praising the new layout excessively but I do think it is (and was) much more user-friendly than the garish other site where vast acres of the screen are taken up with day-glo signatures, moody photographs and platitudinous mottoes at the expense of the text.

There are deleted replies on other threads too Reg - some on Records Office.

However on some threads there seem to be too many deleted on threads that are not at all controvertial, so I'm starting to think the deleted threads are actually just another glitch and not the work of moderators at all.

Please don't leave Reg - there'll be no one left soon.

Bar hum bug! Maybe it's time I looked at one of those other sites....

I love my hobby (that I found in later life) but this seems so unfriendly now.

It seems to have lost that 'personal touch'

I wonder if GR read these posts?....doubt it!

This website it NOT at all USER FRIENDLY NOW.

Please put it back to how it was....and I don't like the stupid little reply boxes either!

Its all a bit basic and amateurish - lets hope this is some sort of 'stop gap'and things get better - hopeless as it is.

I've been saving useful bits of info on there for the last 3 years & now they've ALL GONE.

This is just about the last staw!

Like many other people on this site I used my threads for useful contacts and information and now View My Threads Only has gone?
I do not like it at all, neither do I like the lay out.
Please put back View my Threads only.

Well - I for one quite like the new layout. I do agree that there is far too much space around each reply, but all in all a positive change.

Its good to see GR using our subs to improve the site - I work in IT and to be honest with you the old layout was pretty poor.

If GR want to make changes, instead of forcing them on us, why don't they ask for volunteers? If they get no offers...then that should tell them something....
