National Insurance numbers!

I am currently looking up my dad's war record from the MOD...and in the course of doing so, I was told that they would need his National Insurance number. Dad died in 1979, but after phoning the appropriate office, I was told that all I needed to do was take a copy of his death certificate and proof of MY identity to a job centre, it would be no problem. |
