led the final charge that smashed Napoleans Old Guard .
Richard Corfield soldier of Somaliland----Sir Herbert Edwardes
hero of Multan of whome D H Lawrence wrote since the days of
clive no man has done what Edwardes did.and of course the spirit of A E Houseman the 'Shropshire Lad'-------------Then upon the
counties rolls of honour some 550 thousand soldiers who fought
for the county with the honour and prestige of their fore fathers
where-in its schools the spirit of Sir Philip Sidney will never die.
