Has had a number of strays..still have one now.
Her name is "Boogie". Love her..BIG time!

Great news on geordie, glad she has a new and safe home. my cat is called geordie too. ( because I am one -- although I am far from home ) my other catis called Mac OH a scot. he is a real outside wanderer ( THE CAT NOT THE OH) and I often think he is lost then up he trots again. he visits the Nursing Home at the end of our road and I think they treat him too well

Dot, that's so good, the cat has a good home and your m.i.l has a new interest in life and company, a great result.

~~When my m.i.l..rings up now..she doesnt talk about her aching back..or ailments..She rings up talking about what Geordie has been up to..whether its knocking off ornaments..or destroying her sofa..but says she wouldnt be without her..and She is so much happier having company.
I love cats...and hate seeing them abused..

How lovely that Geordie as found a lovely home with your mil, and how sensible you were to have her have an op, and steralized.

Our old boy was a stray in our garden 14 years ago, and we took him in and love him to bits.

~~Hi Vanessa...We took the cat Geordie to the vets..(she had caught..as we suspected..so she had an op..including sterilisation)..
We had 2 cats already..so wasnt feesable in keeping her..(though I really wanted to..)
So my Hubbys mum has her now..whom adores her.keeps her company..and given her a new lease of life..Incidently..this is up near Newcastle!..Lol..so Geordie quite apt!.

Hi been reading with interest as i too have cats,has anyone any idea how the cat got on,bit strange not getting back,there again maybe not. Vanessa.

we had a stray cat move in 2yrs ago, one of our other cats fetched him home, found him hiding under my bed one day. he was in a right sorry state, needless to say we kept him and had him sorted out at the vets.

Some people have a kitten and then dont like looking after them. It is such a pity,
My cousin had a cat like this keep coming in, and it belonged to the people across the road, when my cousin moved, she went and asked the people across the road if she could take the cat with her. They were only too glad to get rid of her.
She has now lived happily with my cousin for a number of years, and is a great comfort to my cousin.

We're in a similar position. We've seen one sheltering under local cars. She's now started coming in our garden - my cat's aren't too happy - and I've been feeding her. Cat's looks quite young and is very nervous. Trying to build up a bit of trust, and get her in the house. Then I'll get her down the vets and scanned to see if she has been chipped. If not, looks like we'll have another one too! AL

,,if shes adopted you you must ok mum&dad or she wouldnt stay...!!!,,,,,thats how we got ours been with us for 10years and rules our lives,,,,,,,,,:}}}}

Hello Dot, I've just popped on briefly. Hope little lady is OK this morning. Vet will probably want to give her tests to eliminate various nasties (why am I saying this, you probably know anyway! lol). Good luck, and keep us posted, eh.

Hi Dot, sorry I didn't get back to you before.
Where I am living at the mo is not the place for cats but as soon as I can I will be taking on some more, I miss having pets around but my o.h. is not a pet person - long story.
Hope you get on ok at vets tomorrow and new little puss is fine.

yes, Im going to ring vets 2morrow..I already have a cat (from shelter)..and a kitten of 10 months..thats why I tried the shelter but alas no room at the inn..We just couldnt let her fend for herself anymore..she looks like she is a year old. Cats are lovely to have around..boy dont they sleep!..Do get some more cats..it is heartbreaking when they go..but there are so many cats out there that need good homes. I hate to see animals suffering or starving due to human neglect and ignorance..no need for it.. Dotxx
