Hi again Mo - I love teddies and cats - have a cat and other teds too!!

Mine came down air raid shelters with me during the London Blitz, and my poor old Dad had to go back through all the gun fire to get him for me one night when I forgot him.

At the moment he is sitting on the chest of drawers in my spare bedroom, surrounded by other bears One who is I suppose 72, and is a tiny one. Another my late mil made and as his leg was wonky, she could not sell him. so I took pity on him.

Then two modern ones rescued when my Pal's grandson was having a clear out.

You guessed I just love Teddy Bears.

Even my cat who looks like a black bear, is called Teddy.

Hi Mo! Mine is a youngster then, he's only just had his 72nd birthday!!

It was hard parting with him but I wanted him to be famous!!!

My Teddy Bear is 77 years old, bought for me ,by a proud Gran for her first grandchild.

I dont think I could part with him even for just a few months.

Ann, that must have been interesting, and to meet a fellow contributor to the letters page was good. You will have a face to go with the name now, when he writes in again and vice versa.

My Mum must have got rid of my pink teddy, she was a bit too fond of chucking my things without asking, sadly. I do have some studio pics of me with him tho but sadly, only in black and white.
Ted will have lots of interesting things to tell you about when he gets home after Christmas.

Well last night was the launch of the exhibition - of course I had an official invitation to be there and on arrival was given a badge to wear with my name on it. Lady Mayoress opened the exhibition - lovely lady, spent a good time with her and her husband and I must say, Ted looked rather forlorn sitting in a glass case with some other objects. I felt really sorry for him but he has to stay there until January when he can come back home. There were drinks and canapes being handed around and I met some very interesting people - man came up to me, read my badge and said "that name is familiar" so I looked at his and said the same. We are both regular contributors to the Viewpoints page in the South Wales Echo!! Nice to put a face to the name

the very one Clare but I have a feeling the statue may have been moved - that area of the city is under massive redevelopment at the minute

Ann I'll call in & visit Ted, I take it he's in that building near the statue that often holds a pint of beer

i still have my childhood bear hes called ting a ling
(had bells in his ears a long time ago), he lives in a suitcase where its nice and warm lol

Did Teddy wear his Wellies?
I had 5 golliwogs as a child, all handmade by differednt rellies, they were packed into my bedside table for the trip to Canadqa when we emigrated. they never arrived. For goodness sake it's not as if they travelled on the Titanic . . .

I bet he is pleased that his Mum wrote that; he has led a sheltered life, after all.
He should be labelled as a Teddy-pandy (not Toni-pandy! Sorry for the awful spelliing!)

no sadly I didn't, but the lady who took him from me was very kind indeed - we had loads of forms to fill in and things to read, one of which asked how you would like your item treated!!! I just asked "Please don't shout at him, he's not used to it"

What a lucky Ted!
My panda (a utility toy handed down from my sister) loved to wave at trains - but he never managed to ride on one.

Teddy is now in the centre of Cardiff!! He enjoyed it on the train but was a bit taken aback by all the noise in the city centre - I won't get him back until January now, but I can pop in and see him and will be invited to the launch of the exhibition next month

Today's the day!! Me and Ted will be off in a minute to meet the lady at the museum - think we'll go on the train rather than bus - he hasn't been on a train before and fortunately it's not raining cos he hasn't got a mac.
