Hi Joy,

just been on wikipedia and printed loads of stuff off so i can at least try and understand what it's all about,( thanks to eldrick for that. ) My son plays the part of Bottom, so guess who has to make a Ass's head !! oh dear i fear there may be some swearing going on very soon. Wish me luck.xx

He wanted to be Oberon King of the Fairies but that part went to another boy, Hate to think what that costume would involve lol!

When at school,I played the hole in the wall, where the two lovers, Pyramus & Thisbe talked to each through.Just stood on stage with my fingers held open, in what would be thought a rude sign nowadays.

Teresa, wish I could remember, but I am at that 'senior' age where you tend to forget time....Maybe a good thing!
Come to think of it, I never had a glamorous role in any play at school.

I once had to point and say the parts of a flower in a school assembly, i had only just started at this school and i think the teacher was testing me out to see what i could do, needless to say i ws struck dumb for what seemed like an eternity. He never asked me to do anything like that again.

I would say that the part of Bottom was one of the main parts.

I think that's why he was chosen for the part, it suits him, He will take on anything that will make people laugh bless him. I have downloaded loads of stuff for him to look at and help him get into the part. He is really excited about it all.

Get the DVD where Kevin Kline plays Bottom-
it's a nice interpretation.

Update for Mick in The Bush - I have now received the dvd Midsummer Nights Dream with Kevin Kline etc in it so when i have watched it possibly tomorrow evening I will let you know my thoughts. Cheers x
