am hoping to get it by recommending a friend to sky - they are doing a deal at the moment that you get free sky + each.

just wondered ...

1 - does the box replace your normal sky box, or is it in addition to it
2 - do you have to pay a higher monthly subscription
3 - can you 'record' one sky channel and watch another - i.e. record Lost on Sky One at the same time as watching summat on Sky Sports??
4 - is it as easy to use as they say?!

thanks :-))

Hi

I've had Sky plus for a few months now.

Yes you can watch one channel and record another.

The sky plus box replaces your current box.

I paid an initial fee .........think it was about £100 so my monthly payments are unchanged but there are various deals some of which involve paying more monthly some don't.

Yes it's really easy to use.

I'd really recommend it........ I was unsure at first about getting it but I wouldn't be without it now xx

Hi Maz, Muffy is right. I have it and its well worth it. We have all the channels sports, films etc, and we pay and extra £10 cos we have the channels upstairs cos it saves the kids arguing. We paid £99 for the box which did replace the old one. I wouldnt be without it.

Maz

think l can answer your questions

Yes it does replace your old box but remember to cancel normal sky as they will charge you for both

All depends on what packages you have to how much you pay.. check out prices on sky web page. If you only want movies say over xmas can add for a month only

You can record one and watch another.. can even record two at a time but you have to either have the tv off or watching something that you have recorded earlier

Yes easy to use can series link so that you do not forget to record them

You should get it, Maz. I hear they have some wonderful programs on silkworms.

pmsl sue :o))

Also make sure, when the first year warrenty is finished...take out aditional cover, which will be offered at the end of the first year. This will cover everything right down to a new remote control.

Sky + boxes are often tempremental, we had the first one play up at 11 months and the last one about a month go, just died. Few days later warrenty repair man came and replaced with a new one :o))

Love the sky +, wouldnt be wthout it :o)

Maz,

I cancelled our Sky package a couple of months ago. They sent me an offer to come back Sky+ box free plus £50.00 installation. I phoned and said I was interested but didn't want to pay the installation. I had it all installed on Saturday for nothing!

I chose the mix we wanted for £19.00 per month.

You can record two different Sky programmes at the same time and still watch something on a terrestrial channel. It's really easy to use.

We have had Sky+ for some time now ...but i cannot remember canceling ordinary sky so please check on that before you do so.
Sky+ is just an addition to your sky package for recording programmes which you would have done by dvd or video.
