Am I alone in wearing no jewellery at all? I do own two rings. One is in a pot in the desk drawer and I don't know where the other one is.

Gypsy Report 9 Jun 2008 23:35

I love....white gold and silver...(dont wear gold)...Jewelery is about.." less is more." in my books..(I do not like the Mr T Look!)..As I have got older, I have found I love tasteful jewellery..I particularily love Victorian..and Art Deco stuff...basically the expensive things!..Diamonds are a girls best friend?....Oh Yeah!!!!! lol ; )

Sharron Report 9 Jun 2008 23:42

I don't even wear a watch. It all annoys me and gets in my way.

Hoobity Report 9 Jun 2008 23:44

Hi Sharron, you are not alone. I have jewellery but never remember to wear it except for special occasions. It was a big moan of my mams who would often remark on the fact that I never wore the lovely rings or earrings she had bought me. I would say well I'm not going anywhere so why bother. My OH has bought me some lovely pieces over the years and it never crosses my mind to put them on. Being the only daughter my mam left me all her jewellery apart from a few pieces she bequested to her granddaughters. Its just a habit of not wearing any and really I should try and remember to wear some. shirley.x

I am trying to acquire nice I can hand them down to my neices..and my heirlooms one day..
As for watches..dont wear one..there are enough things in this world to remind us of the time!!

Kate Report 10 Jun 2008 00:05

I've given up wearing a watch now - my dad once said, what's the point of wearing one because if you're running late it won't get you there any faster. (I try to apply this to delayed trains but it doesn't always work.)

I wear earrings sometimes but not always and only wear make up once in a while - my sister never goes out without hers (I'm not even sure what colour her face really is any more!) and when my parents were away this week and I did the washing I started to notice all the marks my sister's make up had left on the towels!

I like jewellery!

I haven't got pierced ears though. I don't have ear lobes and never really fancied wearing earrings all the time. I've got some pretty clip ons I wear sometimes but mostly I like my rings and necklaces.

But not all at once! LOL

Onwe Report 10 Jun 2008 03:49

I love jewellry but the work I do prevents the wearing of jewellry. Necklaces get in the way. Rings are ruined when digging etc.

My OH only wore his wedding ring once, caught it on the side of the truck and had to have it cut off.

Maddiecow Report 10 Jun 2008 06:56

I love jewellry but dont wear a huge amount at once.

I am allergic to nickel so cant wear a lot of High Street fashion stuff.

I wear white gold, platinum and silver - the funny thing is most people cant tell the difference as its all silver in colour.

Basics: Earings, bangle, watch and a few rings I dont take off unless I am changing them as I can shower and sleep in my jewellry and I know it wont go green or black.

I wear an engagement ring only on my left hand and wear two rings on my right and change them depending on my mood. I used to wear rings on every finger when I was younger but as someone else said - less is more.........

Also my fingers are bigger than they were when I was younger so a lot of my rings are too tight and my neice loves to rummage and clear me out of what dosent fit anymore lol.

Just a watch but then I am a fella

SallyF Report 10 Jun 2008 07:41

Working in a kitchen I am only allowed a wedding band. So I've got out of the habit of things like watches and necklaces.

Margaretfinch Report 10 Jun 2008 07:43

No you are not alone I only wear my wedding ring. I have quite a lot but if I do put on a necklace or locket I can't wait to take it off.

Harpstrings Report 10 Jun 2008 07:48

I like jewellery but have not got much.
I wear all the time (hardly take them out) the gold and pearl earrings my grandmother got me for my 21st birthday (I am now 51) I wear a white gold band on my left hand - which is not my wedding ring - thats in a pot as I have outgrown it!! I wear a M&S cheapie to go with it!

On my right hand is a real gem - a diamond and opal ring worth loads was too scared to wear it at first but have got used to it. I had it for my 50th birthday.
Thats it - no necklaces - the chains always seem to break.

Sharron Report 10 Jun 2008 10:23

Looks like I am the only one then.
