I have the same problem. I have psoriasis and it affects my hands and nails and my feet. I file my feet every day and apply either Flexitol Heel Balm which was recommended by a chiropodist, or Scholl Antiseptic Cracked Heel cream. If you like soaking your feet put a little cooking oil in to the water this makes the skin soften. When they get really bad in the warm weather when I am wearing sandals I cream my feet before going to bed and put on socks.

i have the same problem get some really bad cracks that make walking so painful at times. I made a chiropodist appointment and was so glad i did he gave my feet a good going over and took off all the hard skin and buffed down the flaky skin too ,he finished off with a foot massage with some really good moisturiser I have one of scholl foot buffer things and am always buffing away but i am still getting the cracks even tho i moisturise every night He has just recommended a cream called Calmurid that is powerful at scouring away dry skin. It seems to be working!! however you have to careful not to put it on any cracked area as will cause stinging and needs to be washed off immediately

I like grans remedy you buy it over the counter at the chemist.
It works really quickly

yes its the name of a product
there is a powder for smelly feet and an oil for cracked heels,its quite astringent and workks really well(one or two treatments and its heaps better)

Daff I think you may have discovered(and lost)grans remedy it is an australian product

my feet are a major pain just now with having to walk everywhere while my hand is in plaster

since i have started to pile on the weigjt i cant 'do' my feet so well as i used to

the balls of my feet burn like fury and walking has been really hard this week

but my heels i've noticed have pits all over like i've had bubbles or summat - i think from wearing synthetic flip flops

i have a great 'cheese grater' file from m&s cost £9 but its huge and gives good coverage but i still can't get my feet free of hard/dry skin :O(

Hi Grannie and everyone else, I too suffer from painful feet that have hard skin, cracks around the heals and the balls of my feet hurt like hell, so last night I did a pedicure on my feet the best I could as I'm not as flexible these days as I used to be lol.

I use a skin grater by Scholl, I used it after a shower while my feet were still damp, this takes 2 or 3 goes over as many nights to remove the worst of the hard skin, I then cream them with any cream thats for very dry skin, popped on some cotton socks and left them to soak.
Today I went to Superdrug and bought "Flexitol" heel balm, it's an Australian product for cracked skin, I have used it since being home along with a cooling foot spray called Party feet also by Scholl, I must admit, in between times of using the grater I use a rough file that is also used for acrylic nails, I use that on dry feet, then cream well.
The Flexitol is very good even though I've used it just the once today, I can already see an improvement.
My feet also burn like hell and get very hot even though I wear leather shoes or sandals. I rarely go barefoot these days as my Osteo in my feet is far too painful.

I have been using the foot cream from Aldi. It is called Lacura & I use the aloe vera pink one that has a deodorant in too lol!

It has worked magic & after a week my heels are the smoothest they've ever been with no cracks to be seen!

Even better it costs 99p for an enormous tube! I use it on my shins now too, as they were always dry before.

Hiya, I know how you feel. I also have cracked heels.

Living here in Australia we always use Eulactol heel Balm. Works wonders.
Don't know if you can get it in UK though.
