I need a new scanner. I want one that converts old slides as well as photos that are stuck into the home made photo albums my Grand dad made.
Has anyone got a Canon 44OOF as it is the one I'm thinking of buying for my needs ?

Any thoughts appreciated

I have the Epson Perfection 1670 that copies slides.

As I cannot and wouldn't try to get the photos out of the home made books.

It has an extendable lid especially for books.

Just realised what book you meant - no you need to take slides out as neg converter is a strip in the lid.

The books are paper/card books with small paper photos in..........the slides are the collection that belonged to my dear old Dad........

Actually sounds as if they both 'work' the same so it will depend on what is available when you go to get it.

I've been having so much fun with my new scanner.

I got the last one in stock from Argos.......it's the Canon one.

I'm sending loads of pics that my granddad took in India during the 1st ww, to a web site about the 1/25th cyclist of London battalion.

I haven't even had a go at looking at the old slide photos of me when I was a little one.
