hi to everyone on this and other boards,
i have jut been reading louise,s thread and i would like to say 'hear, hear' i dont subscribe to the places you have to pay for to see info mostly becase i'm daft and have wasted so much in the past by not knowing what i'm doing but i could not have gotten most of my info on my family research without the great help i had from gr members doing look ups for me so a big big thanks to you all

Louise, I agree. Some of the members on Tips and Records gave me the knowledge to do my own research but also helped me find a few ancestors who were hiding. I wouldn't have got as far as I have if it wasn't for them.

That's right it's other members who do all the helping.

I once wrote to GR & suggested that someone who had done a load of work for others be granted free membership for a year or preferably for life..............it didn't work.

Louise, it is not staff that do the lookups, it is ordinary members like you and me...They give up their time for free to help others. GR staff have nothign whatsoever to do with it.

What a great thread, Louise. Very worthwhile, and something that goes unsaid some of the time.

The members on GR have been so helpful, it restores your faith in human nature sometimes. :-))

Heh, if only we were GR staff. Then this place would be set up in a way that makes sense and doesn't cause the confusion and problems it causes now!

We're all just paying members, and we help because we like helping, and we're obsessive-compulsive. ;)

i call them staff because thats what they act like and dont get paid for it : )

GR staff unmistakenly are not the ones who do the look-ups for other members it member themselves who devote time and effort to help others,,,,perhaps those on Record .Tips.trying to Find will be thankful for your kind comments,,,,,,
