dont start on M7S charging, mum and dad went to visit my uncle who is in a home and stopped at services on way for a sandwich, was a M7S shop and mum and dad both walk with sticks and they wouldnt give dad a bag unless he paid, which he refused to do and still they wouldnt so he left the food on the counter and told them they were discriminating against the disabled, would like to see them try holding things and use a stick to walk and have someone holding your arm as well.

OH and I work for local government and they're wanting to keep our wages down to keep inflation down. Err, so what about these price hikes then? Our utilities, food and petrol have all gone up. But not my wages. Hmm!

Our local co-op and M&S both now charge 5p for a carrier bag. They say they dont make a profit so when i next go in I shall make sure we take our own bags and ask them for 5p for each one of theirs we dont need to use....wonder what their response will be

3 carrier bags Dawnie, youve been spoilt lol.

Yes Joan everything seems to be rocketing. I think its a case of everyone jumping on the bandwagon now and getting their tuppence worth. I know Corporal Jones is shouting 'Dont panic, dont panic' but I went to fill my car up this morning and there wasnt a soul in the garage but when I looked at the garage over the road there was a 40 car tailback and it was only a penny cheaper. They looked at me as though I was daft for filling up there because they had saved themselves about 40 pence at the most. They won't have saved anything really because they will have burned that much petrol waiting in the queue.

Petrol at my local Asda is £1.15 at the moment. Not sure what diesel is.
All the supermarkets are trying to get us to buy long life carrier bags. I keep leaving mine in the car and end up asking for their normal ones.

Apparently the carrier thing is to do with re-cycling. asda had a scheme for vouchers towards free equipment for schools if you use your own bags or re use their carriers.
As for prices, I'm finding I spend a lot more than I used to.

Don't get me started on carrier bag's.................The supermarket I go in always asks if I want one,

Actually I want more than one to put all my shopping in, the shopping that costs a fortune.

The first time any supermarket refuses one I will leave my weekly shopping on the belt and walk ..........enough is enough !

Asda is back to handing out carrier bags one by one again. You pack one bag then you have to glare at the till assistant until she realises you need another one even though you have over a £100 worth of stuff left on the conveyor.
