now that could be a thread all of it's own - motorway "service" stations - which should be renamed motorway ripoff stations!!!

Absolutely nothing if you feel the need to re-mortgage your house so that you can have a full English breakfast or spend the annual income of a small African state on a nicely packed and undoubtably fresh (when it was packed) BLT sandwich

drivers women or men dose it really matter

the problem is with the person not gender, driving
is a learning prosess whether you drive for one year
or fifty years or young or old, its that one moment in lapse of consentration that causes the problem.
I drive for a living HGV I seem to notice that people dont know there are two sides to a road left and right,
I have seen many a accident male and female, some died some lived.
People say driving is a skill, but its very easy to drive its the skills to drive that are learnt along the way.

Colin,
M6 toll services..
I can assure you that the sandwiches now sold (since the beginning off the month) on the
M6 Toll road services (norton canes) are freshly made, in fact they cannot keep up demand...and they are made on the premises, with fresh fillings, I know cuz I eat them.....
The service station is nice and clean too.

The problem is people are taught to drive a car......and that is what a lot of people do...badly..
It should be about 'Roadcraft'
always having pride in the way you drive, and using the road with consideration for other road-users, whatever they are on, or in....
READING the road....... anticipating, and being aware..... not just driving the vehicle in the space you are in......

well, i can change a wheel, oil, know where the water goes, jump start me car, I know where jump leads plug into ie onto neg/pos terminals of the battery....have been driving for 28 years and touchwood, no prangs or anything...

On a funnier side tho.....

I have seen, on many ocassions, "blokes" having a good rummage around in the nose picking department whilst sat behind the wheel. Do they they think they have suddenly become invisible or that their windows are blacked out? My OH tho says he has seen women do the same too

i dont know how half of them ever passed there test, these days, on the school run half the women drive cars they cant handle and cause havoc.

i suffer from road rage am afriad, white van drivers are the worst,

i once many years ago stopped for speeding and when the policeman asked me to get out of the car, i just couldnt help myself and asked him if he was older enough to be a policeman he looked about 16, the older policeman nearly choked trying not to laugh i got points and fine was most upset. lol

I don't drive but if I did I have to admit I'd be with Hayley. Changing a wheel would ruin my nails ;-)

andie

andie Report 13 Jun 2008 22:26

I cant change a wheel, and cant put air in the tyre either, it goes down instead of being pumped up and i broke my nails trying last time and i had just had them manicured as well lol
