Are any of you watching the Trooping of the Colour on the tv at the moment?

Us Brits sure know how to put on a show. It makes me proud to be British.

Let's raise a glass to all our serving soldiers and to all those who have served in the past.

And lastly let's not forget those who have lost their lives in serving this great country.

Don't like Mrs Browns hat, colours don't go. My youngest was in London last Saturday and when she was in Hyde Park she saw them rehearsing some parts of the ceremony.

glad it's not too hot there, hubby used to hate being on parade when it was hot, and they used to wear peak caps never mind bearskins.

Well it was a very good parade today, didn't see any mistakes at all. I usually sit here watching and moaning about the standard of the drill, but there was nothing I could moan about today.

I watched it..I love it & Connie watched it with me too.

Hubby was working down the Mall today & had a BBC cameraman on top of his aerial platform he operates.

It's always poignant for me as, when I about 10 or 11, Dad took me to one of the rehearsals. He used to get tickets as he was connected with the Coldstream Guards. He loved it all and explained everything to me, every time I watch it I get a lump in my throat - going to those rehearsals is one of my best memories.

We watch it every year.My Oh sits there enthralled and knows all the drill. It was perfect and the weather was just right as it wasn't too hot for them in their bearskins.
hope it continues for many years.

I can't for the life of me remember what the programme was, but I remember the gun-carriage races and diplays by many armed forces regiments in an arena that was televised annually.............then stopped for some reason.

Anyone have the faintest idea what I am talking about??
*waits hopefully*
