For the bathroom and are they really water tight?

Haven't used them but have been told the ones especially for bathrooms are water tight. but not the general purpose ones.

Not sure what panels you are talking about,for the walls behind the bath ,or the panels to hide the sides of the bath itself?
Any way poly vinel acetate [pvc]is totally waterproof.and if used to line the bathroom walls for say a shower unit ,only need a waterproof mastic such as acryilic.to waterproof the joints,okay?
