Having seen a thread about ladies toilets I thought I would tell you that I will not shop in Petersfield again.Sometimes it makes a change to shop in a different town and on occasion w would go there.Generally I go in the lavatory when I have parked the car.
To my horror, not having been to Petersfield for a time, I discovered that the toilets had been demolished and rebuilt with seperate unisex toilets that you have to pay,I think 20p.to use APART FROM a male urinal.
I can tell you that my 20p,and the rest of my money is going to another town in future.

Don't they have any department stores with loos that you can use? I rarely pay if I can find a shop with toilets and certainly wouldn't pay for the dubious privilege of sharing with men! Bad enough at home lol

Sharron, Just outside "Petersfield" there is a lovely tract of "Countryside" with "Lush green Fields" and they don,t have "Unisex toilets" or charge "20p". **M**.pmsl.:o)>.

Beggars belief with all the rapes going on. If H&S think it's not safe for children to play conkers etc what do they make of this or are women not important.

Means young girls will be there with males too.
Not a good idea!

Whats a few "Nettle Stings" or being bitten on the bum to worry about, they are starting to use them as natural cures now for all sorts of things, and you can always ask the young "Gentlemen Farmers" for Support. **M**:o)>.

Oh don't start me off again about paying to use toilets (see Radar keys threads).

On the continent if there was a huge queue for the ladies I used the gents, as did the German/Austrian ladies. I learnt that one years ago and didn't even think twice about it if I was desperate.

I have done that myself but don't think I should have to if there is no queue. It's just urinals that are free and I think I might stand out in the row.and am I tall enough.Anyway, what is so valuable about their urine that the town should want it when they don't want mine.

Yhanks for the tip Sharron, I often go via Petersfield to visit my sister, and after an hour and a quarter of being juggled about on a bus, I'm quite often desperate!!
Are these the loos in the car park outside Waitrose?
I usually go to the pub (nearer the bus stop!!). Sometimes I have a drink - sometimes I don't!! LOL

Do you know I think between us we could come up with a bestseller
"Toilets we have known and loved" OR perhaps
"Show me the way to the loo" OR
"Trip to the loo my darling"

Hope you can remember the last two as skits on songs or I'm going to look a real loony - No change there then

Ever tried to find any in Dorking? I believe there are some availableto those who know where to look but garden centres have done quite well out of me in that area.
I am just angry about Petersfield because it is so unfair.

For any visitors to Burgess Hill - why would you?? There is a web site called Burgess Hill uncovered toilet guide.
Apart from the ones in the "shopping centre" (I use the phrase loosely), you'd need to be vaccinated before using the others.

On holiday in New Zealand we noticed that many towns had uni sex toilets. It seemed quite the norm. in many places. and certainly cut down the need for queues at busy tourist spots.
Many single sex ones around too though.

I would not mind there being uni-sex toilets if everybody had to pay to use them. What annoys me is the fact that there is a free male urinal which I probably could not use even if I went in there and tried. It is discrimination which I thought was illegal.
