	anyone clever with these things........mine stopped working a while ago and it bugs me everytime I want to run a new application it refuses it is also a dvd player and will play that but no cd's. Gill

Member Since: April 2005 Posts: 7,345 Send Message	It may be that the driver has somehow become corrupted or it may just have given up the ghost - they do. The good news is that new ones are cheap and easy to fit. Is it an internal one?

	nothing it doesn't recognise cd's at all only dvd's

	errol can he not just go into device manager remove drive from ther reboot reinstall drivers worth a try

Unfortunately I usually prefer it if other people don't make suggestions when I am trying to talk someone through a solution because it can cause confusion and even cause PC problems sometimes. It's not because I am being rude, it just makes it easier for the person I am talking through.
