I'm sorry about your bereavement, Betty.

I'm sure you are right about Lemon. Whenever I see you, I think of when she and I "held your hands" on FTF ... :-)

Goodnight.

Hi Errol,

Sorry for late reply but my cousin died within the last few days and I received a phone call about her funeral, so didn't get back onto my computer.

I checked and Laptop did have automatic updates already set but it just had download all updates so I have changed it.

My problem is now I don't know which updates I should and should not allow microsoft to download!!

You still do have Windows.
Vista is just the latest version ie Windows 98, Windows XP, Windows Vista.
It also sounds like you may not be set up for automatic updates which is quite a security risk.

Go to Control Panel from your Start menu and (in Classic View) double click on Windows Update.
Then click on "Change settings" on the left hand side and alter your settings accordingly - I prefer to set my machines to "Download updates but let me choose whether to install them" because I don't like Microsoft having the ability to automatically change my system.

Joy,

When you have finished eating you will maybe see this.
I miss Lemon too, just wish she would come back on GR but with things that have happened I don't think she will ever be back.

Hi again Errol,

Thanks for the Link, will give it a try and see if it will download the Word document reader. I miss getting my dowloads from microsoft which I had with windows, they even sent updated downloads as well.

Will try the link though and see what happens anyway, thanks for your help again.

WordPad is a very simple word processor.
OpenOffice is very good and you can import/export Word files.
Also you can download a Word document reader (but I THINK it isn't compatible with Vista although it may still work) from:

You're welcome.

Sorry, was in a rush to go and get dinner! so put BRB, 'twas very lazy of me - means be right back. I have used both programs and found them satisfactory.

Take care.
