Oh Jo, what an opportunity you missed, she might have wanted to be godmother to your son had you been on board with him lol
She was a remarkable woman and gave so much pleasure to so many people with her dancing etc.
Rest in Peace, Cyd,
Lizx

As part of his very tedious duties whilst serving with NATO out in Naples, my husband was 'forced' to have two weeks at sea on the Pacific Princess - the Love Boat, from the TV series.
Stupidly, I let him go without me, as I had just had our second son out there.
Amongst the passengers for those two weeks were Cyd and her husband Tony Martin.
They became great friends with my husband, who says they were two of the nicest and most unassuming people you could wish to meet.
They all watched the volcanic display of Stromboli together the night they passed the volcano.
Rest in peace, Cyd.

Another extraordinary thing about Cyd Charrisse was the fact that for sixty years she was married to the singer Tony Martin.Pretty good in Hollywood I would say.

Maybe we will be treated to some of her films on the box. I shall look forward to seeing them. Cant name any performer of same calibre today. Jean

Actress and dancer Cyd Charisse, the impossibly long-legged movie musical star who gained fame for her on-screen pairings with Hollywood dance greats Fred Astaire and Gene Kelly, died on Tuesday at age 86.
