Me and her indoors renewed our wedding vows on our silver wedding anniversary , the main reason being that when we got married in Germany the Regt was on exercise so not a lot of my army mates attended , ( another funny story ) anyways when we renewed our vows all our family and old army friends attended ( even my old OC who had fiddled the paperwork so we could get married) ( another funny story ) anyways it was brill , nice old church and the vicar even called us all by our nicknames and played the Regimental march when we walked out of the church :-))) well worth doing just to see the smile on my beloveds face . :-)))))))))))

we renewed our vows, mainly because we had married in the USA and wanted our families to get together and enjoy the day in the UK as well

The US wedding was very small with only 4 friends of my husbands, the renewal had over a 100 guests ,we booked a castle for the event
it was deff worth it!

I don't know why it would attract titters and giggles, I think its the most wonderful thing for any couple to do. Just like getting married all over again, I am sure you will both love it!!
Best wishes to you both!!

On two occasions in our village there have been special church services to celebrate marriage and we have attended them along with quite a lot of our married friends.

The couples in the congregation have been able to renew their vows by all saying them together so in a way my husband and I have renewed ours twice.

I tell him that as I've now married him three times he's well and truly hooked.

They were lovely services. The sad thing was though that at the last one a few years ago the vicar and his wife were celebrating 20 years of marriage and she left him just three months later! So she obviously hadn't meant what she promised.

my husband and I renewed our vows on our silver wedding, when we first got married we didnt really know the meaning of commitment, when we became Christians, it was obvious that renewing was a blessing to us, we celebrated our Golden weddiing
two years ago, and just renewed our love for each other quietly just the two of us in our home,

My inlaws renewed their vows 2 years ago to celebrate their Golden wedding anniversary and my parents renewed theirs on their Silver wedding, It would of been their 50th this year had Mum not passed over, Hubby and I decided at the last minute to renew ours on our 25th but because we had left it too late we couldn't organise it,
