I see.

I thought it was someone who has stolen something, but its another MP's expenses thing. Putting it in a trust fund to avoid IHT - which is what I did when the rules allowed it......

But, there we go. That's MP's for you!

a severe case of "DO AS I SAY NOT DO AS I DO" methinks.

A few years ago my mum was in hospital and her attendace allowance was still paid into her account with her pension, my lord weren't the powers that be quick on her with their high and mighty attitude that she had done wrong. They insisted on her paying it back at once, I told them she would pay it back in instalments they are still taking £1.25 a month out of her pension.

if i and OH were to obtain a large sum of money i was not entitled to from a government source (or any source come to that) and invested it in a trust fund not only would i be charged (i expect) with fraud, I would be expected to pay the monies back and possibly have to serve community service - what is the difference between us and another couple in the news this week? Oh they are MPs - this is so wrong.
