I am Sooooooooooooooo Jealous !! I was raised in Blackpool and always thought I had the best childhood anyone could possibly have. (still do) Who could want more ....The beach, the Pleasure Beach, Fabulous dance halls, Big Bands, Stanley Park ( I lived next to the park) Fabulous theatre. fantastic countryside where we rode our bikes. Of course that was a long ,long, long time ago. Now I'm in sunny California. Today it is 104 degrees. that's just too bloomin hot for anyone.
Anyway..............Have a wonderful time and bend your elbow with one for me. I will be thinking of you.

Being from Ches...hire....Blackpool was the our seaside town as a child..sadly its not the same now..

I was there four years ago. I took the last of my five children for a visit. They have all been and loved it. Of course it's nothing like it used to be, especially during the war (i"m giving my age away) when it was chock-a-block full of troops, dancing up a storm to the 'Big Bands' Geraldo,Ted Heath,Joe Loss etc. There was such fantastic camaraderie that I'm sure can't even be imagined today. Oooohh !! don't get me started ...I'm getting homesick.

We'll meet again.............dont know where .....don't knowwwww whennnnnnn....
