Would anybody know if it is possible for me to obtain World War II Army Service Records for my Grandfather. Would they tell me where and when he was posted?

Any help appreciated.

Do you have to prove you are a relative, or can you just send for them with payment.

Thanks, Julia

Hi Julia
I just got my dad,s records a couple of weeks back. I had to fill in a Certificate of Kinship stating I was the next of kin ( http://www.veterans-uk.info/pdfs/service_records/rn_kinship.pdf )
They said would take 4-5 months but it only took one.
I was very disappointed in the limited amount of info I received, but maybe you will be luckier and get more.
