I joined in November 2002 when the site was still called Genesconnected but I didn't start using the message boards for quite a long time.

I mainly go to General and Tips with occasional visits to Chat. If I am in the mood I'll go to the Records board and see if I can help anyone.

I used to use my full name but decided against adding my surname when we discussed the problem of privacy a while back.

I've lived in Somerset for about 30 years so maybe you had contact with a different Sue.

I have been too busy of late to join in, and just pop in now and again to see if there are any topics of interest to me.......

Been here 2years now wander in and out but very rarely post now like I used to. Still avidly do my tree mind even when I do get way laid !

I was joined up in May 2005 by a precocious 12 year old neighbour who was showing me how to play with my laptop, lol. I didn't do anything with it (I wasn't a paid-up member) as we were busy moving house, becoming first time Grandparents and no internet for 5 months, lol!
I worked exclusively on my tree for a while.... found the boards in late 2006 just as there was soooo much nastiness that the boards were closed for a couple of days by GR. This put me off posting for a while... plucked up courage last February (2007), just as board wars were heating up again, but stuck with it!

I have met some wonderful people, and made some brilliant friends from the site.... but I still wander off and play with my tree!! Not on GR though, although I am helped a great deal by one special GR friend who helps me with the research methods I need, plus some look ups, and the computer techno stuff when I get stuck.

And that is the real beauty of this site

I posted first of all on records and tips, then general, occasionally used to post on the original chat board, and now very occasionally venture to the chat board.

I become more and more disinclined to post on the site, knowing that threads (which would not have been deleted by the site moderators if they did not breach the T & Cs, I have been assured) can be whooshed by a glitch in the site.
