thanks Joan, we can visit there. Don't want to turn up, and waste time not knowing where to get the correct info. Is this T.I. Centre right in the centre ?

thanks mac, that sounds good, not sure if we can make it Saturday though, we were planning monday or wednesday.
I googled the address on 1851 census and was gobsmacked to see the building still standing and being run as a restaurant.
So we are dying to go and get a closer look, even par-take of the local beveridge, afterall it must be in our blood !

After finding out that our ancestors lived in Jubbergate , York,
my sister and I are planning a trip there next week. We would like to know if there is somewhere we can visit where we might be able to get some local info. Maybe a local library or museum.
We only have a day to look around, so any upfront knowledge would be a help. Can anyone give us some pointers pleeeeeeaaase.
Thanks Yvette
