My Birthday

ProfilePosted byOptionsPost Date

Ron Report 26 Jun 2008 16:14

I didn't know Carol had put it on GR, she's just told me.

Many thanks for all the Birthday Greetings, if you are going to the York Fair this Saturday you can bring my pressies to me there :0))))

Our daughter walked in this morning and didn't sing Happy Birthday she sang this instead.

My Favorite Things'
from the movie 'Sound Of Music'.

(Sing It!) - If you sing it, its funny!!!

Botox and nose drops and needles for knitting,
Walkers and handrails and new dental fittings,
Bundles of magazines tied up in string,
These are a few of my favorite things.

Porches and cataracts, hearing aids and glasses,
Polident and Fixodent and false teeth in glasses,
Pacemakers, golf carts and porches with swings,
These are a few of my favorite things.

When the pipes leak, When the bones creak,
When the knees go bad,
I simply remember my favorite things,
And then I don't feel so bad.

Hot tea and crumpets and corn pads for bunions,
No spicy hot food or food cooked with onions,
Bathrobes and heating pads and hot meals they bring,
These are a few of my favorite things.

Back pain, confused brains and no need for sinnin',
Thin bones and fractures and hair that is thinnin',
And we won't mention our short shrunken frames,
When we remember our favorite things.

When the joints ache, When the hips break,
When the eyes grow dim,
Then I remember the great life I've had,
And then I don't feel so bad.

All the best

Brilliant Ron, hope you don't mind me printing it out. Did your daughter compose it?

Carol Report 26 Jun 2008 18:40

No Ann, feel free.

She was sent it in an e-mail. I suppose it's off the internet somewhere.

Off down the chinese buffet restaurant in a bit for a meal with the family.

11 days now without a fag and it aint to bad with the patches. That was my birthday present to myself.

Ron, well done giving up the ciggies, the best present you could have given yourself, better tasting food, and more birthdays than you might have had.
Have a lovely evening out.
