Can anyone please recomend a plant that I can put all over my garden to stop 4 cats spraying and marking their territory...Its my garden not theirs and when i walk up my path it stinks of cat pee. I don't even own a cat and I certainly don't want people thinking we smell of cat wee! lol

Thanks

I'd like to know too.................next doors 5 cats, who have a completely paved garden use ours as the local public convenience! :((

Love the cats................hate the stink and mess!

Thats the problem. We are the only garden with grass. they dont even cover their mess. It's awful and you can guarentee my kids with step in it!

What normal pepper??

I'd rather that than cat poo. They are the most ugly scraggily, manky looking things ever....just like my neighbours, the owners

As you can tell we do not get on lol

You can buy ultrasound cat scarers, dont know how effective they are, but now i have thought about it, i will go out and buy one, i am also plagued with the bloody things.

I have been told a water pistol filled with concentrated orange juice, they hate sticky things on them

Hi Marcelle/all,

You can buy curry plants, not sure if they are a edible herb but they have a nice mild curry smell and keep the moggies out, although you need a fair few of them in your flower beds.. Other than that there are several breeds of dog that will deter moggies..lol

All the best GA

Pepper works sometimes.
Place plastic bottles filled with water round the area they use, they see their reflection and think its another much larger cat and run like hell:-) it works:-))

I tried the water pistol but to be honest with you I just end up running every where as they are so fast (does the diet good though)lol

I am gonna look into the ultrsound one but knowing my luck it will get pinched out of the garden. Trouble is with plants I have a huge long garden and it will cost of fortune as they dont just do it in one spot. One of the cats must be ready for babies as they scream their heads off at night as well.

I could always move house lol

there is a plant which is repellant to cats - ask at your local garden centre - they will know which one it is - also you can get one of those childrens' water blasters and spray them if you catch them on your property - they don't like getting wet!!

I speak as a cat lover by the way and have a lovely cat of my own but do understand your complaint

If you live near to a zoo and they have lions, I've heard that Lion poo, is good for detering cats. I read somewhere once that cats don't like citrus, so maybe you could put lemon and orange peel around the garden.
