They are now playing the "COP OUT " card . Got another letter from them again saying silicone is in the tops of the hold -ups , funny when I looked at them there is nylon and lace!!!Also said if the Doctor at the allergy clinic wants more info he can contact them . Just looked up Silicone allergy ---strong evidence that silicone is not an allergic substance. I`m going to phone them !!!

I sent a pair of school trousers back to BHS as wasn't happy with the way they washed. After several weeks " as a gesture of good will" they just sent my money back as a voucher to spend at BHS !! - no explanation though as to whether this is now their standard of material!

Went to Tesco - got a pair half the price & they wash up lovely !!

Well I must be lucky then, cos I got a letter and a cheque for the refund on postage for the tree, and I get to keep the tree too, even tho it isn't the one I sent for.

agree , some kind of black hole that swallows letters but suddenly reguritates them when you complain!!!
Every letter they receive is logged so they told me but no record of mine but reply dated 14 days before I phoned!!! Was it really or did they just write it and not post it and my name has changed to RASALYN

Makes you wonder if they're doing it to drive you mad, doesn't it? In my flat at uni I had a nightmare with TV licensing as no one else could be bothered to deal with it - TV licensing classified our flat as having 6 addresses (five bedrooms and the kitchen/hall) and considered us an unlicensed property because we didn't have one for the kitchen/hall.

I phoned them (no one else took the trouble) and learnt that my mobile ends a call if put on hold so I wrote a letter to them. Never received a reply yet the reminders kept coming in the post!

I think they must have selective letter sorters - like Maggie says, money gets through, compliments get through but enquiries go into some kind of postal "black hole".

The DVLA are another good one - I filled in my provisional licence form, sent it off indicating that I had extra medical information to give, they sent a form for me to fill in, I tried to get my doctor to give a statement - he sent the thing back with a Post-it note attached saying "I can't see a problem here" (it was to do with my left hand, a problem I have had since birth), then I think we posted it back. One day the DVLA sent a letter saying, "You haven't sent the form back - you can't have a driving licence", the next day my provisional licence came through the post!

Got a reply enclosing reply to first letter , which they had no record of receiving when I phoned them. and another reply to 2nd and £25 gift card . But 2 letters were contradictory -1st one said if my Gp feels that patch testing would be beneficial we will be happy to provide additional info on the formulation of our products and samples of individual ingredients 2nd one says tops are made of silicone. I phoned them and a gentleman phoned me back and I asked him to specify the additional info etc , all he kept repeating was they are made of silicone. I have now written to Customer Manager again saying I`m not happy and need to know more info,
What good is a gift card when I want to know more details -it`s as if they are fobbing me off , Ros xx

Ros,
Send them an invoice when they finally reply, for cost of postage and stationery! Worth trying - the worst they can do is ignore you!!

Well I did ok again today!!
Sent off for a free Magnolia sieboldii from a newspaper offer while I was on holiday, think it was £3.99 postage, and the tree arrived today. Apparently they had such a response that the original ones ran out so they have sent another sort, a Standard Magnolia. It looks ok but wasn't what I wanted, as the other one was supposed to be scented and was a different colour. I already have three Magnolia trees, all the same, the big pink ones.
I rang Thompson and Morgan to say I was unhappy and that there was no information about the replacement tree, and they apologised and said Well keep it anyway and we will refund your £3.99, as if you send it back it might be dead by the time it arrives (she didn't know much about plants by her own admission, as I am sure the tree would survive another posting but as she said keep it, I will lol) She also arranged to send out information about that particular type of Magnolia too so I know what to do and what to expect.
O.h. isn't happy, he says I have too many pots and tubs already lol
I can't resist plants and such tho.

I find it amazing how often firms/councils don't receive letters of complaint - but ALWAYS manage to receive letters containing a cheque or a compliment!!!!
