Did you see the article a few weeks back about an art exhibit in brazil or some other southern american country.

A mangy, starving street dog was put on display, given no food or water and left to die in the "gallery" on public display.

Merlin, the way my aged cat is going at the moment - ie. waking me up at all hours of the night yowling to be let out, and then in again......it is a wonder she isn't stuffed and in there already!!!.......not serious, but the lack of sleep is getting to me.......

.....the granddaughters pulled some old wood from behind our shed, so I could do something with that.......I am afraid I can't see the art in a pile of bricks or half a dead cow.......give me an Old Master anytime.....

Such a lot of modern so -called art is a scam!
The Emperors New Clothes is a great analogy!

well in my small world, if someone said I've just bought a work of art, I would immediately think of a painting or drawing - do most think this way?

if they had bought a sculpture say, I would expect them to say a sculpture.

ever since Damien Hurst's sheep in formaldehyde and Tracey Emin's bed, I think the "art" world has gone potty

oh, and don't let's forget that huge crack that apparently runs the whole length of a gallery in Tate Modern!! plenty of those in the roads and on the pavements where I live!!

I rather like my 'Woman hanging washing' piece, and the alternate one, which is on a Tracy Emins theme, of a woman sat in an extremely dusty room entitled 'Woman can't be Ars*d'
