Driving in France from today

Just thought I would pass this on as, from today you will need a bright safety jacket in the car. You must have at least one and it must be kept in front with you and not in the boot, we picked one up for three euros.
During a breakdown ,you can only be outside of the car if you have one on.
Not sure if its all of Europe but it starts today here.
Hope this helps

Thank you for that Jill.
I wasn't aware of this but as a non driver I might have missed anything in the local press.
Channel Tunnel is only a short distance from here and people pop across often, sometimes even after a day's work, so I will pass on this information.

Thank you.

Told my brother about this cos he is moving to France and drives across quite often just now.

He said it's always been the law that you must carry a high-viz jacket .........

but that the new law is that you must now have ONE FOR EVERY PERSON in the vehicle as well .......

Thanks for the advice Jill.

We'll be back in beautiful France in August, and whilst we always have a high vis jacket in the car, it is kept in the boot, and on day 1 and day 14 of our hols it's hidden beneath a mountain of summer holiday packing paraphenalia.
