CAN SOME ONE PLZ HELP IM TRYING TO GET A DEATH CERT OF THE GRO BUT IT TELLS ME I NEED THE EXACT DATE OF DEATH AND I DONT KNOW IT CAN SOME ONE TELL ME HOW I CAN GET IT?

Hi Lisa - I tried to order one about a month ago - same here - it wouldn't let me with out the actual day of death. Mine was a recent death 1998 so i presume it has something to do with it being so recent.

did you tick that you have the GRO ref .I got a cert from 1975 and it didnt ask me for actual date of death

LISA !!! you need the GRO ref to order any certs from the General Register Office, perhaps that is the problem

Its their filing ref so they can locate the cert Any cert with that ref costs £7 so well worth you giving the info do you want some help to find it??

You just need to click the 'No' option where it says Is the index number known then just add the year.


Edit: sorry as it was in the last 50 years you do need it after all

I've PM'd Lisa with help in filling in a GRO form including the Vol and Pg numbers for reference, I have also found her marriage for her. she doesn't need exact date for the marriage. Not sure about the death.
