I'm already wondering how I ever found time to go to work :-) This retirement thing is wonderful. OH can't get used to me making tea for when he gets home. I've even managed to do a bit of proper family research as well!!!!

Had a lovely time today. Went to see our grandaughter Zoe (age 6) in her school swimming gala. It was lovely :-) All the children did really well. After that I was a "lady wot lunches" with my daughter Diana, other grandaughter Molly (age 3) and my sister Sandra who had come over to see the swimming as well.

Whoever said that retirement is boring wants thier head seeing to!!!!

Forgot to sat that the holiday was brill other then the mosquitoes on the campsite in Narbonne. We all got bitten quite badly, but the area away from the site was lovely. I had a swim in the Med for the very first time. It was so warm and clear. We visited all sorts of places. One memorable place was the medieval city of Carcassonne. That is a fantastic place to go to. Also the town of Narbonne is very pretty, and veru interesting as well. I can't believe how quickly the time went though - 4 and 1/2 weeks. I do feel sorry for OH having to continue working though. If things work out he should be able to retire this time next year.

Hi everyone - i retired last November, had planned to have a few months off then go back to work three or four days a week about March. My mother in law who is eighty one and quite frail, crippled with arthritis fell out of bed and fractured her arm, so that put pay to that, but I have now discovered my laptop. going out for coffee, shopping and lunches, meeting up with friends for meals etc now i havent got time to go to work. I do wonder how i managed to fit everything in when i was working as i was quite houseproud. Thats changed, it took me three months to sorting out my wardrobes and i still got my drawers and shoes to sort. I think priorities change. The other thing is i cant believe how quick time passes, the weeks are flying by. Anyway have to go, lots to do.

Hi Pauline, how lovely for you.

I work at a nursery and we have lots of grannies who show up to our events: the children love it. We had sports day today and it was
great fun - although no granny was in the wet water obstacle race, can't think why!

My own 3 poor kids had not a single grandparent who showed up to anything...hmmm... mind you they did live 100 miles away. When I retire I am going to all of my (future) grandchildren's everything, no matter how far.
