A dream is a dream - I think that is all.

I first heard of Freud when I was about 14, did a little research, and came to the conclusion that he was basically a fraud - I believe that has been proved since by more educated people than myself. He had some serious hang-ups of his own (not least an Oedipal complex), and seemed desperate to justify them by imposing them on others. Jung, however, does make a lot more sense...

As for my dreams, apart form the usual, day-to-day stuff, they can be pretty bizarre, often as a sort of film, usually with me just a bit-player in the story; the actual story seems to have little relation to my own recent events

Freud relies on symbolism.....the old movie stuff of a train going into a tunnel...Im sure you can work it out!

So have a go at interpreting them yourself......lol...or at least working out what the symbolism means.

If you prefer Freud to Jung or New Age interpretation, that is!

yeah, I have dreamt of plane crashes, floods and fires.

But they have been dreams about crashes, floods and fires and not predictions.

How do these predictive disaster dreams work, I wonder. At the start or finish is there a sort of announcement to say it isnt an ordinary dream, it's a prediction?

Because how would the dreamer know otherwise? Or am i simplifying things too much?

Caz- thats a yes!

Hi Sue,

I dont think its wrong to let things out and it can be very cathatric, my OH can be like that, keeps it bottled up, I hope you are ok today love,

Hi Frances, I think thats at the heart of my dreams....stress. Your dreams sound like mine, I wake up totally terrified sometimes, it is just so real. The ones with your Dad must be a great comfort. I think I would like that when my parents are no longer here, at first i think I would be scared though,

AS you say, there is no way to prove it.
