Just checked Head of household on Mormon site , got his dob , parents , but not his marriage.

Went to the Mitchell Library , got details . In 1891 the houses all had names, so don`t know which is ours but don`t think it was built then. In 1901 there was a family of 3 , plus servant--surprising as it`s a big 4 storey house , now 4 flats. Now I`ll try to find their relatives. Told my neighbour I got details of his house but I got 16 and he`s 14 -what an idiot . Have note of disc anyway if I go back,

Hi Ros

Only just checked my email and got Liz's message.
At our FHS we have a list of all the streets and an index as to where you can find them in each census.

I am sure the Mitchell will have that for Glasgow.

Hi Rosalyn, as it's in Glasgow, I should have thought that they would have some sort of street index at the record office - they certainly do in England for the bigger towns. Best thing to do is ask someone when you get there, staff are usually very helpful :-)

Does anyone know how to do an address search to find out who was living in this house? I`m going to trace the history of our house but don`t know where to start. This is in Glasgow and I`m going to the Mitchell Library on Monday which has records,
