Put raw cauliflower ,grated carrots ,small florets of brocolli into salads . Have always nibbled at the raw veg.

About the only veg I find not eatable raw is potato. As you say, a bit for the pot a bit for me. Most of my relatives think I'm mad. OH wont even try! All the more for me. Jean

I too "Help Myself" when doing the veg, for dinner.
I will peel off the outer leaf of cabbage and eat that raw...and as for the heart.........pure bliss! in fact any veg is fair game!! At work,I used to be able to get fresh brussels straight off the farm...... what a bite they have......

I remember my grandfather drinking the cabbage water. supposed to be where all the vitamins are. I use it to make gravy.

used to like cabbage stumps too when the cabbage was being prepared for cooking. Its the white bit at the bottom where all the leaves spring up from ,supposed to be good for you .Me & elder sis too used to drink the hot cabbage water seasoned with salt & pepper after it was drained when the cabbage was cooked.
takes me back too to meat dripping on toast with the jelly. and seasoned with salt & pepper Loverley !!!

cauliflower its lovely its got a nutty flavour i was feeding me chooks bit for me and bit for them and all my seedlings are alive so i now have over a hundred caulis growing , will have a cauliflower meet xx
