As a bit of light relief I thought it might amuse some folks to know what I was doing this afternoon..........I was trying to find a dandelion!

I've got only week before I need to submit details of some glass engravings for an important exhibition and I'll have to write in details of titles and size etc.

Until yesterday I'd only finished one suitable piece and panic was setting in. I started one huge vase but realised it was going to take weeks so have put that to one side. I then wrote a rather nice phrase on a plate "What is a weed? A plant whose virtues have not been discovered" by Ralph Waldo Emerson, and was going to put a bindweed design on it.......lots in my garden :(((
Then realised it would look too fussy so decided a single dandelion clock would look pretty.

Humph..........they've just about all finished flowering. My kind and patient husband drove me round the village slowly and we both hunted on the playing field (in wind and rain!). Found one but wind blew all seeds off as I picked it! Then on the drive home..... success! Collected precious seed head carefully and protected it all the way home and up to my studio.

Anyone watching must have thought we were mad!

Anyway! Job done and plate finished.
