After fighting for just over 6 months to get an answer to my chronic post op pain I finally have a scan booked on Tuesday.

I can see no point in going back into theatre again for another pain block as the last one didn't work.

I won't bore you all with the agony and symptoms I have had since Jan 4th but I have been at wit's end with this but gave in and now take morphine which I didn't want to take because the drug and I don't suit each other.

Once they have ruled out (hopefully) vascular damage then perhaps I can get a proper diagnosis and treatment. The last muttering from the surgeon was scraping the muscle away from the bone...nice!

Physio referred me to a podiatrist and I have a higher insole now, not high enough yet but the adjustment has to be gradual to get to 3/4".

If it wasn't for my GPs, physios, nurses I would have been left to get on with it!

I have a big mouth but what about those patients who won't or can't make a fuss, it's them I feel sorry for when treatment fails.

Wishing you the very best of luck Sue, hope all goes to plan and you are pain free (or the pain is at a level that does not need morphine).

Wishing you all the best Sue, and I hope whatever treatment you have works this time and you can get your life back.

I feel awful that I spent so much time reassuring you about the op and then for all this to happen to you. I do appreciate how well my own went.

I'll be thinking of you xxx

Thank you all for the replies.

Karen it was my Caroline who received a letter through the post saying she was sarcoid not MS. She has now had apologies from her MS nurses -her 'consultant on a mission to disprove her diagnosis' was talking out of his *rse!

They have guaranteed that she will never see that twerp again..lol

Sorry about hubby's diagnosis, there are people on GR who can help.

Good luck on Tuesday, Sue.

It is a sad fact that if you don't shout loudly, you get shoved aside and left to get on with things, not the way it should be but dreadful that we have to question things and push to get the right treatment or even a bit of respect from the doctors, etc, some of whom think they should be on pedestals and bowed down to.
Hope things improve soon for you.
