i have five for our bed.,four for the spare bed and two for the fold up bed. I use top & bottom sheets on our bed as OH likes to HOG the duvet and i hate waking up on a cold night with my bare botty exposed and really cold!! the sheet stops him from hogging, use King size duvets on both double beds. I change the sheets & pillowcases every week on our bed and the duvet cover once a month ,unless the cat has dribbled on it !!

We haven't slept under a duvet for a long time. All we have now is padded throws.Mostly we sleep under one of these with a sheet. If the weather is especially cold we might put a second padded throw on top.
Since we were double glazed and the cavity walls insulated the house has been far too warm for a duvet.
The housing association are pushing a bit to install central heating but I think we would be much too hot with it and I would resent paying extra rent for something I would not use.

I love Northern Nights - QVC - have a mattress topper from them too as well as flanellette duvet sets!

My cavity walls are being done next month - free of charge too!!

Dont laugh- I have three duvet covers with matching pillow slips and bottom sheets with frills, for the summer in light colours, and three duvet covers with matching pillows slips for winter in darker colours.

I change pillow slips and sheets every week, and duvet cover once a month.

Then have set of duvet cover, sheets and pillow slips to match curtains in the spare room. Only have guests who stay occasionally, and these go on whenever they are coming, bed is left with just duvet, covered with sheet and old duvet cover until then.

My two spare beds are covered with plastic dust sheets - have a puss who tends to walk over them with muddy paws!!

Yes Ann, or decides to have a fur ball on the bed.

We have a lovely green stain(even though had duvet cleaned) on our duvet from our dear little Teddy.
