I keep being sent these emails telling you of all the things you should feel happy about cos others are far worse off than yourself, which I know is true and it is always best to try to think positive.

But after reading these mails and all the attrocities in the world you end up feeling worse than ya did in the first place!

And also those ridiculous ones which are meant to be from god (didnt know you could get the net on a cloud) telling you that you should send the message to everyone of your contacts and then god or an angel will make something good happen the next day at 1pm and if you dont something dreadful will happen to you.

Why do we supposedly intelligent people forward this drivel?

Sorry if this offends if it does just tell me to shut up lol

What surprises me is -where do they get our e- mails addressess from -I know they can get sold on , but I get so much trash,

Only kidding, but my box gets so full cos I get things from all over the place, no one dares risk not sending things on lol, and I do pass on some altho maybe why my life is so difficult, I often don't forward everything!

I delete the lot of them.

I get enough sensible e-mails without all the drivel.

I don't mind the occasional interesting powerpoint but I get fed up with being preached at and I think so many of the ones we get told to pass on to dozens of friends are so slushy that I'd be ashamed to pass them on anyway!

Lots of them are no better than the awful chain letters which went round when I was at school.

You are so right.... but I pass them on anyway. But then 'I am' a bit of an idiot!!

They are just a bit of fun really.
I usually ask my friends to tell me off if they get fed up receiving them, I also make my own mind up about certain ones I think should not be passed on.

Having said that.... a couple of weeks ago, I had one which told me to pass it on and something good would happen in ... whatever the time lapse was.!
RUBBISH I KNOW.....
BUT the next morning I received a completely unexpected postal order for almost £50....
nothing to do with the angels, but I was very pleased to get it! ;-0)

If you keep forwarding stuff that's how you end up getting spam e-mails. I din't ever forward or even open things that have been forwarded to me and I never get spam at all.

I know there`s a way to hide recepients

If you want to hide who you are sending things too stick them in BCC then it will not show all the other peoples addies

also if you are forwarding anything remove the previous recipients details before forwarding.

I delete anything I dont recognise.

I always send them to a dead account of my OH's , then put all the addresses in the BCC thingy. I also take off all the old addresses on the email I'm about to send.

That way, everyone who gets it ONLY sees my address and my OH's dead account address, and nobody elses shows.

Its safer that way. Leaving everyones email address on view exposes them to even more spam mail and abuse.

As for the original purpose of the thread, I never bother forwarding chain emails, those that say, if you are my friend you will send it back, or forward this and something nice will happen in five minutes, etc etc. They are rubbish, sickly sweet usually and a waste of time. I can't be bothered with them. Sorry if anyone who has sent them to me is offended by that, but I dont' need anyone sending them to me to prove their friendship, and I dont' expect anyone else to feel that way.
