UPDATE..... just had this from Sue... she is very tired, and asked me to pass this on! Thanks to everyone who has wished her well... she says she has been really touched

I saw a very kind and competant technician who greeted me with the words "Hello I understand your hip replacement didn't go as planned" I explained that I had been most concerned that I may have suffered vascular damage (my brother died 10 months post op after a hernia repair). I wanted a possible aneurism ruled out. He spent quite a while scanning the whole area and announced that there was NO signs of an aneurism...great news.

He talked to me about the possible causes but stated that he was unable to determine what the root of the pain was. He said that he could just determine the muscle and ligament mass. At least he was honest and treated me like an adult.

We talked on the way back and we think it is best to pursue our GP's recommendation of getting a second opinion. The GPs suggested this in March but I said I would defer until I had the scan.

I am going to ask for a new referral (Cardiff if possible, as all consultants/surgeons know each other in my county and the adjoining one).

I am happy that I can mark one X in my boxes but feel back in limbo with not knowing.
I am going to speak with family over the next few days so ask their opinions too.

Thank you all so much.

Love

From Sue xxx

So good news and no news then Sue, hope you can get the second opinion very soon and get some real answers.
Glad your fears over the aneurism are unfounded.
